Built in Knoxville. Built for Knoxville small businesses.
Pondra is a one-person studio building custom AI tools, modern websites, and automation for local businesses. Founded and run by Tyler Graham, right here in Knoxville, Tennessee.
I'm Tyler Graham. Lake to a few people online. I live in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Pondra is the thing I am building.
My day job is corporate inside sales. I got there after running a couple of small businesses of my own. A dog grooming shop. A product sourcing operation I ran through COVID, which taught me a lot about what it actually feels like to be a small business owner under pressure. In sales I learned that most problems customers bring you have very little to do with what they think they need. They have a thing they are trying to get done, and there is noise in the way. The job is to cut the noise. I have brought every job I have ever had back to that one idea.
Pondra is what happens when I do the same thing with software.
How Pondra started
I have been building tools for myself for years. During COVID, when product availability was a daily problem, I wrote my own monitors to watch for items my customers needed, so I could move on them the second they came back in stock. I have always been the person who builds the thing nobody is selling, because waiting for someone else to solve my problem felt like wasted time.
A while back I started a stretching business called Lakeframe and built the website for it myself. I showed it to a few clients and one of the first things they asked was, “What business made this website?” I told them, “Me.” That was the moment Pondra became real. The website was getting more attention than the stretching itself, and I started paying attention to what that meant.
What it meant was that a lot of small business owners around me are sitting on websites that quietly cost them customers, doing manual work that software could handle in seconds, and watching the AI conversation pass them by because nobody nearby is making it concrete. I can do something about that.
How I work
Solve the problem, not the brief
A customer comes to me with a thing that is broken, slow, or missing. I figure out the right answer. I ship it. I do not get hung up on tooling, on best practices for their own sake, or on the way it has always been done. I use whatever combination of software, automation, and judgment gets the result.
Human first, system second
I am big on human discretion. The obvious technical answer is not always the right one for a real person running a real business. The best builds come from understanding the human first and the system second.
Knoxville first
I will work with anyone, anywhere, but I am starting in Knoxville on purpose. I want to be physically close to the projects. I want to walk into a shop, look the owner in the eye, and understand the actual work before I touch a keyboard. And honestly, a lot of business owners in the Knoxville area do not realize yet how much is possible right now. I want to close that gap, locally, before I think about anything else.
If you are a Knoxville small business owner who has been meaning to figure out the AI thing, or you just have a workflow that is driving you crazy, the free website audit is the easiest way to start. No pitch, no obligation. Just a real look at where you stand and what is worth fixing.
What Pondra becomes
The two-year version of Pondra is the place Knoxville goes when they need a custom tool or someone who can think clearly about AI for their business. I want our only real problem to be that we are too focused on doing right by the clients we already have to take on more, and that we have to figure out how to grow without losing what makes the work good.
I will work alone as long as that is the right answer. When it stops being the right answer, I will bring in people who care about this the way I do. Curious, hands-on, and obsessed with being useful.
If you have a project or just want to talk shop, the audit or a quick call is the easiest way to start.
